Juraj returned to work with our firm after a term as representative of the Slovak Republic before the EU courts in Luxembourg between 2006 and 2008. In that capacity, he represented the Slovak state in proceedings before the European courts which included litigation with the European Commission and acting in proceedings related to national courts’ interpretation and implementation of EU legal regulation. He is an expert in all matters of competition, including antitrust, state (public) intervention into markets, competition distortion by public measures, the exclusive and special rights of enterprises and the regulation and liberalisation of network industries, as well as environmental requirements, public procurement and cross-border trade. He was previously a trainee with the Office of Attorney General Ján Mazák, at the European Court of Justice. He has considerable experience in analysing and interpreting EU legal regulation and EU case law.
Juraj is fluent in English and has a passive knowledge of French and German.
