Protecting information in EU infringement proceedings against a member state

Date: 15/02/2012

In its ruling dated 14 February 2012, the General Court held that the European Commission is not obliged to respect the grounds given by a member state when the state seeks to deny access to documents (provided to the European Commission in connection to an infringement) to third parties. Before the European Commission makes such documents available, it must hold openly consult the member state. For more information please contact Juraj Čorba on juraj.corba@rc-cms.sk.
